MigraineGuard

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 11, 2026

This policy explains how MigraineGuard handles information when you use the app, including guest mode, account features, weather context, analytics, and optional communications.

Health and Wellness Data

MigraineGuard is a wellness tracking service, not a medical provider. Some information you choose to enter may be sensitive health or wellness information. We do not sell personal health logs or use them for targeted advertising.

1. Information You Provide

MigraineGuard may let you enter profile details, migraine or headache history, symptoms, trigger notes, food logs, hydration, sleep, medication-use context, weather thresholds, alert settings, newsletter email, and preferences. You choose what to enter and can use many features without filling every field.

2. Guest Mode

Guest mode does not create an account. Guest health logs are intended to stay on your device using local browser storage. Guest users cannot buy paid features. Guest data may be cleared if you leave guest mode, clear browser storage, change devices, uninstall the app, or use a browser privacy setting that clears local storage.

3. Account Data

If you create an account, MigraineGuard may use authentication and database providers to save account information and sync supported app data. Account data may include email, name, account identifiers, plan status, onboarding status, settings, and app records needed to provide the service.

4. Weather and Location

If you allow location access or search for a location, MigraineGuard uses that location to request weather data and generate weather context. Approximate or precise location may be processed by your browser, the app, and weather providers. You can deny location access and use manual location search where supported.

5. Device, Usage, and Analytics Data

MigraineGuard may process device, browser, app interaction, performance, referrer, UTM campaign, and error data to operate the service, improve features, measure acquisition campaigns, protect security, and understand aggregate usage. The app may use hosting and analytics tools such as Vercel Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights, Google Analytics, or Google Tag Manager when configured.

6. Communications

If you sign up for email updates, we use your email to send requested newsletters, tracking tips, product updates, and operational messages. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails. We may still send service, security, account, legal, or transaction messages where appropriate.

7. Payments

Paid features may be processed by third-party payment providers. MigraineGuard does not need to store full payment card numbers in the app codebase. Payment providers handle payment details according to their own policies. MigraineGuard may store plan status, renewal status, product identifiers, and transaction metadata needed to unlock features and support billing questions.

8. How We Use Information

9. Data Sharing

MigraineGuard does not sell personal health logs. Information may be shared with service providers that help operate the app, host data, authenticate users, process payments, deliver email, provide weather data, analyze usage, monitor performance, protect security, comply with law, or support a business transfer. Providers are expected to use information only for the services they provide to us or as otherwise allowed by law and their own terms.

10. Consumer Health Data

Depending on where you live, migraine logs, symptoms, medication-use context, location-derived wellness context, or similar data may be considered consumer health data. See the separate Consumer Health Data Policy for categories, purposes, sharing, and rights.

11. HIPAA

MigraineGuard is a direct-to-consumer wellness app and is not intended to be a covered entity or business associate under HIPAA unless a separate written arrangement says otherwise. Do not upload information expecting HIPAA-covered medical-record handling unless MigraineGuard has expressly agreed in writing to that role.

12. Health Data Breaches

If MigraineGuard is required by the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule or another applicable breach-notification law to notify users, regulators, service providers, or media about a breach of unsecured identifiable health information, we will provide notices required by applicable law.

13. Retention

We keep information as long as needed to provide the service, maintain records, comply with law, resolve disputes, protect security, and enforce agreements. Guest data remains under the control of your browser or device storage. Account data may remain until deletion is requested and completed, subject to lawful retention needs.

14. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and the information involved, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, withdrawal of consent, restriction, objection, or opt-out from sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling. You can also choose guest mode, decline location permissions, avoid optional logs, unsubscribe from marketing emails, export supported local data, clear browser storage, or contact us about account data.

15. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service, browser storage, or cloud provider can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, browser, and account credentials secure.

16. Children

MigraineGuard is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

17. International Users

MigraineGuard is operated from the United States. If you use the service from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where service providers operate.

18. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The updated date will show when changes are posted. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where required by law.

19. Contact

Questions or privacy requests can be sent to migraineguardmail@gmail.com. Please include enough information for us to understand and verify your request.
