Consumer Health Data Policy

This policy explains how MigraineGuard handles consumer health data. It supplements the Privacy Policy and applies where consumer health data laws, including Washington's My Health My Data Act or similar laws, apply.
Summary
MigraineGuard does not sell consumer health data and does not use personal health logs for targeted advertising. Guest health logs are intended to stay on your device. Account features may sync supported app data through service providers so the app can work across devices.
1. Consumer Health Data We May Collect
- Migraine or headache history, symptom days, severity, notes, and pattern-review entries.
- Food, hydration, sleep, medication-use context, routine, stress, weather sensitivity, and trigger preferences that you choose to log.
- Location or searched-location information used to provide weather context for personal tracking.
- Risk-context settings, alert thresholds, notification preferences, onboarding answers, and app usage related to health tracking features.
- Account identifiers, email, subscription status, and support communications when connected to health-tracking features.
2. Sources
We collect consumer health data from you, your device or browser, your manual entries, your account settings, location permissions or location search, and service providers that help operate the app. Weather data may come from third-party weather providers and is used as context for your logs.
3. Why We Collect and Use It
- To provide migraine-related tracking, weather context, history, alerts, risk-context estimates, and app settings.
- To support guest mode, account sync, data export, subscriptions, customer support, security, debugging, and service maintenance.
- To improve product quality and understand aggregate usage without selling personal health logs.
- To comply with law, enforce terms, prevent misuse, and protect rights and safety.
4. Sharing
Consumer health data may be shared with service providers that help us operate the app, including hosting, database, authentication, analytics, email, payment, weather, security, and support providers. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, with your direction or consent, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.
5. Sale and Targeted Advertising
We do not sell consumer health data. We do not use personal health logs for targeted advertising. If this changes, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required by applicable law.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to confirm whether we collect, share, or sell consumer health data; access your data; receive a list of third parties or affiliates with whom data was shared; withdraw consent; request deletion; appeal a denied request; or exercise other rights under applicable law. 7. How Requests Work
We may need to verify your identity or account before fulfilling a request. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. Some information may be retained where legally allowed, such as for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, transaction records, or service integrity.
